Thanks from SMASH for helping 200 people a week

Happy New Year from all the team at SMASH Food Share which is run as a Parish Food Share by the three churches in the Almondbury with Farnley Tyas Parish.

It is supported throughout the year by the generosity of their congregations along with:

• Almondbury Methodist Church.
• Our local schools.
• The local community who fill donation boxes in the Coop, Post Office and One Stop.
• Customers and staff at Morrisons.
• Local businesses.
• Many groups and individuals who wish to remain anonymous.

In the run up to Christmas we were very grateful to: 

• Ben Franco, who launched his annual Christmas Appeal, rallying support from his friends and customers. 
• Everyone at King James’ School who held a bake sale, non uniform day and collected chocolates and sweet treats. The student council arrived with a mini bus full of goodies! 
• All those who called with ‘extras’ for our Christmas bags and monetary donations.

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported us throughout 2023. With your help we in turn are helping approximately 50 families and individuals – almost 200 people – every week. 

SMASH Food Share is open every Friday morning from 9:30am to 12noon. We are a non referral charity, open to all to ‘Give what you Can and Take what you Need.’
