Sam Cowling-Green

Sam is married to Felicity. Sam grew up in Sheffield and, having moved between Cumbria, Cambridge, and the U.S.A., loves being back in the Yorkshire countryside. During the week, he works as a chaplain in a mental health hospital in Leeds where he accompanies patients and staff as they explore their spirituality. He supports our churches through sharing in leading our Sunday services. In his spare time, Sam enjoys cooking, following the cricket, and is learning to garden.

Judith Mulligan

Judith went to St Michael and St Helen's in 2003 to listen to a friend’s son play the organ. It was at a monthly meeting and she  continued to attend. 'After this I began to go to the church on a Sunday. In 2006 Rev Andrew Smith suggested I go on an exploratory year in ministry. Once a month I went to The House of Resurrection to study. I then went on to the Reader ministry course. At York Minster I had my graduation and became a reader. I have led services at all three churches and I continue to enjoy every moment in this role.

Michael Burn

Born in Dewsbury, Michael trained as a Methodist Local Preacher and was accredited by the age of 19, by which time he had begun training to be an RS teacher. He married Sue in 1991 and in 1995 they reluctantly left Methodism. Sue trained with NEOC and was ordained in 2001, serving her title in Sunderland and Michael was licensed as a Reader. Later Sue became Vicar of Wath, South Yorkshire and in 2013 Michael was ordained priest. When Sue retired, they moved to Honley. Michael has been a JP and a school governor.
