SHARING THE LOVE OF CHRIST IN OUR COMMUNITY

WELCOME

We are a worshipping community across three churches who want to get to know and share Christ's love and joy in Almondbury and Farnley Tyas.

Each of our congregations has a differing style of worship, and much is going on. There is something for everyone in our inclusive parish.

We welcome everyone at all stages of faith, including 'not sure'.
We warmly invite you to join us!

Church of St Lucius, Farnley Tyas
St Lucius', Farnley Tyas
St Lucius' is a small church with a big welcome at the centre of a farming village. The Victorian church with its new social space hosts, among other activities, a weekly community cafe. An eco-church, It is also working towards becoming carbon-net zero.

OUR SERVICES

Worshippers at All Hallow's, Almondbury
We offer a variety of worship within the parish. The Eucharist, or Holy Communion, is at the heart of our worship and is celebrated in the parish each week.

Evensong, a centuries-old service which brings together words and music, takes place at All Hallows' or St Lucius' on the first Sunday of the month at 6.30pm. It offers a chance to pause and reflect away from the noise and distractions of daily life.

Join us in praying for our local community and our world in Morning Prayer from Monday to Friday.

A Dickens of an idea for Christmas

Nick Wade talks about A Christmas Carol production
In Farnley Tyas thoughts are turning to Christmas. There's a plan to stage Charles Dickens' novel A Christmas Carol in St Lucius' church. The idea comes from director Nick Wade, who lives in the village. A meeting to test interest was a great success, but volunteers are still sought to take part.

REFLECTIONS

'The wind blows where it chooses'

Jesus describes the Holy Spirit using the imagery of the wind: 'The wind blows where it chooses, and you hear the sound of it, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.’ (John 3.8).  At first this imagery is a bit puzzling.
