  It was a pleasure to welcome a large parish congregation to Evensong at St Lucius' last night, the first to be led by our new Rector, Rob. It was also privilege to welcome a visiting choir from St Mary's Honley and their new priest, Anna. The singing was a joy. After the prayer and praise came fellowship over a lively curry supper. Our thanks to everyone who helped in its preparation and service. The ancient, meditative office of Evensong is sometimes written off as redundant. Not in this parish.
