The hugely popular Farnley Tyas Cinema Club, based at St Lucius' Church, is set to return with a new slate of films screened monthly. First up it’s Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy, the latest instalment, following the endearing diarist’s madcap love life. The film starts at 7.30pm on Friday, September 26, and doors open at 7pm. Tickets are £6 on the door, and refreshments will be on sale. There’s also a tempting subscription offer – £30 for all screenings between now and March 2026. And coming soon – The Salt Path! We look forward to seeing you when the curtain rises!

It was a pleasure to welcome a large parish congregation to Evensong at St Lucius' last night, the first to be led by our new Rector, Rob. It was also privilege to welcome a visiting choir from St Mary's Honley and their new priest, Anna. The singing was a joy. After the prayer and praise came fellowship over a lively curry supper. Our thanks to everyone who helped in its preparation and service. The ancient, meditative office of Evensong is sometimes written off as redundant. Not in this parish. |
