Join us in All Hallows’ Meeting Room on Thursday, July 24 at 7pm to help plan for the Heritage Open Day in September. We need photographs, objects and memories associated with Almondbury over the last century – and even earlier if you have them. Heritage Open Days is England's largest community led festival of history and culture, involving thousands of local volunteers and organisations. Each year it brings people together to celebrate their heritage, community and history. Stories are told, traditions explored and histories brought to life. Our Heritage Open Day falls on September 20 from 9.30am to 5pm. So please come along on July 24 to contribute whatever you can to our shared history. Refreshments will be provided. Members of Almondbury Methodist and All Hallows' churches combined in a community coffee morning at the weekend to raise funds for Christian Aid. The two churches have a warm and productive relationship and the event at the Wesley Centre was well supported. Our thanks go to the organisers – and to the bakers who produced such a wonderful variety of delicious cakes. |
